March has special holidays as we approach spring
time
March has special
holidays as we approach spring time. In March we change the clocks ahead an
hour on Sunday, March 9 at 2:00 am; we
celebrate St Patrick’s Day on Monday, March 17th and Easter Sunday
March 23rd. For these occasions we have various libations and
gourmet products to enjoy.
Spring time makes
you think of lighter libations such as; Mojitos, Cantaloupe Martinis; Alsace or
German Rieslings, cool crisp white wines, such as Sauvignon Blancs, Chardonnay,
and Pinot Grigio. For the beer lover we have special flavored beers from
Belgium to welcome spring such as; Chapeau Banana, Raspberry, Pineapple,
Cherry, and Apple. Other springtime beers are Samuel Adams White Ale and
Bluemoon Rising Moon. Both beers are a celebration of springtime.
As St. Patty’s Day
approaches, everyone gets their green on. Pelican Wine and Spirits is no exception.
We have Guinness
Draught, Guinness
Stout, Smithwicks, George Killians Red, and Harp Lager. If beer is not your
taste there is always a spirit to go with that Irish meal. Whether it be;
Corned beef and cabbage, Barley and Lamb Stew, Irish Soda Bread, Cabbage and
Lamb Stew, Shepherds Pie, or Braised Lamb Shank there is something to drink
with it.
As for spirits
there is Bushmill Irish Whiskey, Jameson
Irish Whiskey, Red Breast 12 yr, Powers Gold Label, Tullamore Dew, and Michael
Collins blend or single malt. On the sweeter side there are various Irish
Creams; Baileys Irish Cream is available in regular, carmel, and mint.
Spring delicacies
such as flavored Stilton’s like; Mango Ginger, Cranberry, and Pear and Apple.
Cream Cheese based spreads like Lobster Bisque, Crab Creole, and Sundried
Tomoto with Fontina cheese. Gourmet Easter Baskets can be made with varoius
treats with or without alcohol.
Easter candies and cakes are available like,
rum cakes from Tortuga or Goslings, hand made Petits fours are available shaped
like small critters such as; Lop Eared Rabbits, Pineapple Cremes, Hummingbird
Nests, Flowered Eggs, and Milk Chocolate Carrots to delight all. Freshly
flavored with lemon, strawberry, orange, and scrumptious chocolates, no
celebration could be complete without these multi-layered, bite-sized
confections.
